tattoo ideas

So, I am going to be eighteen this September...

Lo and behold I am planning on getting tattoos! I am definitely getting the word "euphoria" on my wrist in some beautiful lilting script la de da my favorite word since I turned 11. I am on the fence about using black or this cool pinky, silvery color I saw on a picture that makes me think of gel pens
i.e. ------>
And the OTHER tattoo that I might get would be from an... tra le la, drumrolls, please! An e e cummings poem! I know that's terribly unoriginal but eh, I love him to death. Anyone familiar with "maggie and millie and molly and may"? Well this is where I got the idea:

But instead of on my arm, it would be on my left shoulder blade AND it would look, a lot different? There would be a top section but instead of the compass rose I would have a starfish with different sized peonies open and closed coming around to almost make the frame for the text... "for whatever we lose (like a your or a me)/ its always ourselves we find in the sea" And the words would be in two lines in probably a typewriteresque font with little PEARLS around it and a ribbon...

My friend is going to help me draw out my idea, I'm so excited! And I am debating about that little bird, I love litter birds but I was thinking about making it a little sand dollar or a jellyfish.. eh.. and still not a hundred percent on the coloring and shading...

Here is the full poem, I love you <3>

maggie and millie and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)

and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles,and

millie befriended a stranded star
who's rays five languid fingers were;

and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and

may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.

for whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea.

  1. I really said pears! Sheesh, I meant pearls up there, tiny pearls around the font and by the flowers and ribbon... haha.

  2. i love the ideas. the poem is beautiful, and any line would compliment your personality and appreciation for art sufficiently.

    oh and i deleted the haikus because i didn't mean to post them in the first place. i only had like three. i usually post stuff in my blog and save it, so i can accumulate stuff like that over time. i'll post it when i have some more to post.
